3D Scanner and Digital Imaging For Great Results

You’ll find digital imaging at just about any dental office to visit. Most dental offices have have converted to digital X-rays because these X-rays are providing a better image and a reduction in radiation compared with traditional X-rays. The images from digital X-rays are crisp, but we have an even better imaging system: 3D scanning. Our 3D scanner allows us to detailed images of the mouth for diagnosing and planning treatments. It allows us to map out the entire treatment with precision. We’re also using the imaging to show you exactly what the finished product will look like.

The 3D technology is particularly useful for us when placing dental implants. The imaging allows us to see the density of the jawbone so we can see the most optional location of the dental implant. When we find the best spot for the implant, we can increase the success of the treatment.

Correcting Gum Issues With Laser Treatment

Gum problems look bad and can damage your teeth. Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. Gum disease starts small with bleeding or swollen gums, but that problem can quickly snowball if left untreated. The early stages of gum disease, gingivitis, is curable with intervention. But the later stages of gum disease, periodontitis, is not curable. You’ll need treatment for the rest of your life.

The traditional way to treat gum disease is with scalpels and stitches. As you can imagine, this treatment is extremely invasive and leads to a length recovery period. So our office has investment in laser treatment. The laser evaporates the infection in the gums and does not require the use of scalpels of sutures. The laser improves the comfort of the patient and increases the recovery period. It also reduces the risk of postoperative infection.

Intraoral Cameras For Better Education

The intraoral camera is something we use chairside to help better educate the patient about their smile. It’s one of our favorite tools because the patients can see exactly what we see. So, if we see a problem area in the mouth, we’ll use the camera to show the patient exactly what we see. If you need a filling or a crown, we’ll take a detailed picture of the area and show you.

It’s amazing to see our patients react to this simple and efficient tool. It makes our patients more comfortable with the treatment and even increase our case acceptance.

Great dentistry and state-of-the-art tools can change your view of dentistry for the better. You can expect great results whenever you visit Drs. Moss. They have your best interest in mind and leave no stone unturned when it comes to providing you great dental care. So give us a call today at (540) 373-2080 to schedule your visits.
